A Monday Night Rice Bowl
Hey guys, Hope everyone’s have a great start to their week! I know things have been crazy in the world recently. Let’s hang in there! This is the perfect come-home-from-work-and-crash type of meal. I’ll usually just throw something together when I get back from Amazon because it’s usually pretty late in the evening I don’t have a lot of time to prep so for this rice bowl it really only took me about 10 mins to make minus the cook time for the rice which I just let simmer for about 45 mins while I worked on other things. This is a healthy meal and easy to make. I’d definitely recommend it! Here’s the ingredients:
- White rice
- Tuna (5oz can)
- Spinach
- carrots or other vegs
- lemon pepper seasoning
- cajun seasoning
- butter
- salt/pep
Whenever I’m making a rice bowl I tend to make sure my rice base is seasoned well enough depending on the protein. Tonight since I’m using the tuna I wanted the lemon pepper herbs, I thought it’d go well with that. I also lightly season the tuna while cooking it with some cajun seasoning but that’s up to you. The rest is pretty self explanatory but feel free to throw in some lentils or whatever else, rice bows offer great variety and flexibility according to your tastes. Here’s the steps:
- Boil/cook white rice rice on stovetop or rice cooker. 45 min
- Once ready, cook and heat up the tuna on medium heat. 3 min
- Get the bowl ready and add in the rice and season according to taste

4. Add seasoned tuna.

5. Add in your spinach and other veggies and choice of sauce and voila!

Enjoy you guys’ evening and take care!!
